What do you do if you need to lead a team through complex problem-solving?
The key thing about setting goals is making sure they're SMART: Specific. The goal is concrete and tangible. Measurable. The goal has an objective measure of success you can track your progress. Attainable. Goals should be realistic and challenging, yet achievable. Relevant. he goal should have a meaningful impact, contributing to the solution of the complex problem. Time: Establish a timeline with deadlines and milestones to monitor progress.

What do you do if your leadership decisions are constantly being questioned?
I'd suggest making sure that the big vision and mission match the company's, and that everyone's in the loop. When your choices align with these goals, it's simpler for others to get why you're making them. This approach can make things more transparent, especially during the process of making major decisions. Offering a chance for feedback on the smaller decisions that pave the way to the bigger ones can really make everyone feel involved and can lead to the best outcomes. But remember, at the end of the day, it's still up to the managers and leadership to make the final call and own it.

What do you do if your resume lacks leadership experience?
There are plenty of chances to show off your leadership skills, even if you're not in charge of a team. Take a solo design team, for instance. You can develop your own workflow to spot opportunities, design, build, and launch projects. You can also take charge of how ideas from the top get passed down to developers, making sure you're the one steering the ship. When it's time to grow, people will look to you as the go-to expert and leader in design. This approach works in every corner of a big company, or even in the smaller processes of a small or medium-sized business.

What do you do if you're a consultant struggling to balance work and personal life?
Apple hit the nail on the head back in an ad of 1997, saying that for every yes there are a thousand no's. They were talking about the design philosophy behind their products, but it's a concept that applies to pretty much everything in life. Whenever you say yes to something, whether it's making a promise, diving into a project, or investing your time somewhere, you're also choosing not to do a thousand other things. The trick is to zero in on what matters most to you, set your boundaries, and focus on what makes you feel valued and aligns with your own goals.
